Simon is a multi-award-winning artist who is celebrated internationally for his dynamic lyrical abstracts. Since we released his first collection of limited editions last year, his work has captivated a whole new audience, and his breath taking originals have become some of our most highly sought- after works. Known as a ‘radical modern impressionist’ in the art world, in his day to day life, Simon is perhaps best described as a thinker. His personality is a huge part of his work and he spends a lot of time reflecting on and exploring the energy and emotions that he experiences, and harnessing them to use in his paintings. With each new piece he embarks on a personal journey through a host of emotions, all carefully considered and expressed through colour and form, offering the viewer a direct visual connection with his mind set. This quest for understanding means a day in the life of Simon Kenny can be an unpredictable thing. He often becomes entranced by a piece of work and can spend 20 hours at a time in his studio. He might finally stop painting at 4am, and then only because he wants to get down to the beach to watch the sunrise. Working in this way can be quite isolating, so he loves his trips to the galleries to meet collectors and other art lovers.
